The MadCap Software Scholar Program Welcomes
University of Colorado Colorado Springs Partners with MadCap Software
San Diego, CA and Colorado Springs, CO – January 06, 2020 – The Colorado Springs campus of the University of Colorado (UCCS) is partnering with MadCap Software to empower students with the professional and technical writing expertise needed to gain an edge when entering the workforce. Through the partnership, UCCS will enable students to gain hands-on experience in using MadCap Flare—the most advanced technical authoring and publishing solution on the market—and in applying the modern content creation techniques needed to succeed in their careers.
UCCS is incorporating MadCap Flare into the Technical Communication and Information Design (TCID) 4080: Information Architecture and Content Management course where students will be completing multiple projects in Flare throughout the entire course. Specifically, they will be working with a local DoD contractor to develop equipment documentation and create a commercially-oriented (retail) site to teach the concepts of modular authoring. By the end of the course, students will be able to add the projects they have created throughout the semester with MadCap Flare into their professional portfolios.
As an industry standard for technical authoring and content development, Flare will help our students get experience using software used by professionals in the field of technical communication. Students who use the products will have a leg up in a competitive market, and they will practice some essential skills for authoring complex technical content.
Sean D. Williams, PHD | Director of Technical Communication and Information Design, UCCS
