This fall, BCIT is using MadCap Flare—the versatile content development software that supports the ability to publish to a number of devices and formats including print, Web, desktop and mobile—to provide students with the most advanced authoring and publishing solution available today. As a result, students are gaining expertise in modern technical writing and online Help development through hands-on experience with the software used by thousands of companies across the globe.
Developing Modern Online Help and Technical Documentation

The institute’s Technical Writing Program has achieved an impressive 80% graduate employment rate along with strong and growing alumni community and industry partnerships.
To enhance its students’ learning experience and advance their skills, BCIT has updated its “Designing and Writing Online Help” and “Writing for the Computer Industry” courses with MadCap Flare. The courses take advantage of MadCap Flare’s functionality for topic-based authoring, content reuse, and single-source multi-channel publishing, among others, to familiarize students with modern approaches for designing and developing state-of-the-art online Help and technical documentation.
Since the inception of our Technical Writing program nine years ago, we have kept a close eye on the evolving field of content management, and MadCap Flare delivers the capabilities that we believe are critical to the content creation and publishing expertise that businesses demand. We are thrilled to join forces with MadCap Software in providing our students with innovative methods and tools to thrive in this pervasive field.”
