MadCap Software Launches the MadPak Multilingual (MadPak ML) suite -- now featuring MadCap Lingo 3.0
MadCap Expands Popular Multi-channel Authoring Functionality of the MadPak with MadCap Lingo, the Industry’s First Fully Integrated Translation Memory and Authoring Solution
La Jolla, CA, USA – January 5, 2010 – MadCap Software, the leader in multi-channel content authoring and a showcase company for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft XPS, today announced that MadPak Multilingual (MadCap ML) is now available. For the first time, global businesses that need to deliver content in multiple languages have a completely integrated product suite for creating, editing and translating text, graphics, video and audio. The results are greater accuracy, efficiency and consistency in publishing print and online content for different audiences worldwide.
The MadPak ML suite builds on the core MadPak authoring suite by adding MadCap Lingo, the industry’s first fully integrated translation memory system (TMS) and authoring solution. MadCap Lingo eliminates the need for file transfers in order to complete translation—preserving valuable content and formatting to deliver a consistent experience across multiple languages. For authors who work with a translator that relies on another TMS tool, MadCap Lingo includes the Project Packager feature. Using Project Packager, the author can create a MadCap Lingo project with all the files that require translation, and in a single click, bundle it in a ZIP file and send it to the translator. MadPak ML is a suite of integrated products based on native XML, which were built from the ground up to work with each other to provide unique and powerful cross-product, single-sourcing. For example, users can launch MadCap Mimic, Capture and Echo from within the Flare interface to quickly add Mimic movies, Capture screenshots, and Echo audio to topics. Through linked variables, changes to a Flare project can be reflected automatically in Capture and Mimic as well. A Flare project can then be translated into a range of languages with ease using MadCap Lingo’s powerful built-in translation memory tool. All of the MadPak ML products support both single-and double-byte languages through Unicode. Additionally, MadCap Lingo and Flare support the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) standard, Microsoft Word, and a range of standard text and language formats. MadCap MadPak ML is available today. Perpetual licenses are priced at $1,599 for a single license. MadPak ML is backed by a range of service and support options, delivered by
MadCap’s US-based team of authoring and technical documentation experts. Support fees are
$699 per year for the Bronze Level, $799 for the Gold Level, and $1,249 for the Platinum Level—all of which include free updates and upgrades to the software. Discounts for multiyear support contracts are also available.
