Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities at MadCap. The Accounting Manager will report to the CFO and will plan and direct the accounting activities of the department and oversee the accounting team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
• Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
• Oversees tax planning throughout the fiscal year.
• Manages the accounting team who are responsible for reconciliations, billing, collections, and payroll.
• Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
• Provides financial analysis
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in similar role and/or experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation
• Experience with contracts
• Experience with SaaS accounting required
• Experience with NetSuite Accounting system
• Experience with M&A
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
• Ability to focus on detailed work for extended periods of time
• Professional work ethics, and integrity

Salary Range: $90K - $130K based on experience
