Today we’re thrilled to announce the release of MadCap Lingo Version 5.0.
MadCap Lingo integrates into the authoring/translation environment of Flare, but can also be used as a standalone translation management tool for file formats such as FrameMaker, MS Word and PowerPoint, HTML, XML, DITA and more.
New in version 5.0:
FrameMaker Import/Export and XLIFF Document Support
Import content directly from Adobe FrameMaker, including .fm, .mif and .book files. Plus support for XLIFF (XML Localization Interchange File Format), used as a standard means of exchanging localizable data and related information in a lossless format.
Improved Review Workflow: Export to Word and PDF
Allow managers, clients and other content experts to review your content in easy to share formats. Support includes loose HTM/HTML files, Master Pages and Snippets.
New Getting Started Wizard
Get a quick start on your projects with an all-new Getting Started Wizard.
Show/Hide File List View
In addition to users being able to see all files that require translation, you can now see the folder structure of other projects, including Flare and Mimic.
Translation Memory Editor Improvements
A new pagination layout in the Translation Memory editor improves performance, particularly when dealing with thousands of records. Users can also add or delete auto-suggestions in the editor for enhanced customization.
Enhanced Statistical Reports
Get statistical reports for word count, translated content, content requiring translation and more for individual files or selected groups of files, in addition to an entire project.
