It is our pleasure to announce that Keith Schengili-Roberts, Market Researcher and Senior DITA Content Strategist at IXIASOFT, has become the new Chair of the OASIS DITA Adoption Committee.
An active member of the board since 2014, Keith was first nominated several months ago by JoAnn Hackos, and was acclaimed unanimously to the role of Chair by the committee. He is joined by Stan Doherty and Bob Thomas, who will both pursue their role as the committee’s secretaries.
“In the near-term, my primary goals are to help promote the DITA best practices through the publication of white papers, get the revamped dita.xml.org website up and running (using Congility’s DITAweb platform), and have the DITA 1.3 specification translated into several target languages,” says Keith.
His expertise is built on an impressive background. In addition to working at IXIASOFT, Keith is an award-winning lecturer on Information Architecture at the University of Toronto. He has over 25 years of experience in the technical writing field, and over 10 years working with DITA. He is an active member of the DITA community and can often be found presenting at conferences, working with customers, researching how DITA is being used, and sharing his findings with the community. Keith’s popular industry blog “DITAWriter.com” has become a focal point for DITA resources and best practices.
His additional new role with the OASIS DITA Adoption Committee puts him in a great position to provide expertise and resources to educate the marketplace on the value of the DITA OASIS standard. Join us in wishing Keith much success in his new role.
