Adding Alias Files

After you add a header file to your project, the next step in creating context-sensitive Help (CSH) is to add an alias file. The alias file will help you to add content to the header file. For more information, see About Alias Files.

How to add an alias file

Select Project>Advanced>Add Alias File.

The Add Alias File dialog opens.
In the Template Folders area, select one of the folders.

The Templates section to the right displays the alias templates contained in the folder you selected. Click here to find out what templates are all about.
In the Templates area, select an alias template.
In the File name field, type a new name for the alias file.
Click Add.

The alias file is added to the Advanced folder in the Project Organizer. The Alias Editor opens to the right, with the page for the new alias file shown (including an initial identifier for the header file that you created previously).

Note: If you are importing FrameMaker documents and you create topic alias markers in the source files, this file will be created for you when you import perform the import. See Creating Topic Alias Markers in FrameMaker for Context-Sensitive Help.
